Measure A in Long Beach.  Go from the temporary (wink wink) to permanent tax

https://lbpost.com/news/city/long-beach-plans-to-ask-voters-for-permanent-extension-of-measure-a-sales-tax

https://www.lbreport.com/news/jan20/ff125k.htm

Measure L in Lakewood, called the "The Lakewood Public Safety/Local Control Measure" (insert vigorous wanking motion here)

https://www.lakewoodcity.org/council/measure_l.asp

And, since they can't always soak you on the sales tax, there is always the property tax.

Yeah, I had this in the Lol Angeles thread in the politics forum.

Oddly, in LA, I don't get to vote on measure FD.  I guess LA isn't considered LA County anymore.  So you guys will have to vote harder and say no to that increase.

Oh trust me, LA City fire isn't standing around while everyone else gets their pockets picked.

as soon as they purposely add in "and it's for our children", that makes far too many people ignore what they're really trying to do.

Well, I think there is a distinction:

A "Craig" is when you repeat something previously posted.

A "Taylor" is more nuanced, and will be much more rare - when a poster *asks* for something just posted.

I'm OK with that.
