North Carolina trying to ban direct to customer car sales

Recommended Posts

Tesla has actually been facing similar difficulties in quite a few states.  There are a dozen or so that they can't sell Teslas in.  IMO all of the legislators behind the blocking of the sales should be put on trial to prove they aren't in the pockets of the auto lobby.

Saddest part is that Tesla is 100% an American company.

I am very much considering the Tesla S over an E Class.

Then again I have been talking about buying a new car for the last three years so I probably wont get either as usual lol.

oh i would get tesla over an S, and i have a mercedes.

i love MBZ, but teslas are like james bond man. they are fantastic.

for me i just dont know if i want anything that big, or 4 door.

im thinking 911 turbo, ferrari, M3, vette, etc as i want a convertible.

but they are sporty man: the acceleration is like immediate.

and absolute silence inside since no combustion engine.

definitely go test drive one.

theyre HQ are across the street from me so i hang out there every now and then when our office valet is busy.

Heaven forbid that people should actually pay directly for a product instead of for commissions and all the gamesmanship that makes people hate buying automobiles.

I'm guessing the loss of state sales tax to North Carolina might be in their reasoning somewhere.

Given this, I'm guessing that is completely off. It's all about commissions.

The bill is sponsored by state Sen. Tom Apodaca ®, who claims the goal is to stop unfair competition between manufacturers and dealers (as Slate notes, Apodaca also received $8,000 from the NCADA last year, the most allowed by law).

By "unfair", he means that Tesla isn't pocketing thousands of extra dollars by deceiving their customers.
