Obviously still a work in progress, as we look to secure another corner infielder, but so far:

2017                                                2018

3B Escobar                                     2B Kinsler

RF Calhoun                                     RF Calhoun

CF Trout                                          CF Trout

DH Pujols                                        LF Upton

1B Cron                                           1B  Pujols *OR* DH Pujols

LF Maybin                                       3B Cozart

SS Simmons                                   DH Ohtani *OR* 1B/ Valbuena

2B Espinoza                                    SS Simmons

C  Malonado                                    C Maldonado

Not bad, Mr. Eppler, not bad.

Albert might be up there for lead in RBI’s this year... with that lineup, and with him batting lower in the order, look out. We all know he struggles to hit for a high average, but with a guy on 3rd you know he’s going to cash him in. There is no other guy, (not even Trout) that id rather have than Albert Pujols batting with a runner on 3rd, and 2 outs to drive a winning run in.

Hats lff to Billy for what he has done so far. Next up... Mous?? :)

I don't think 29 other managers agree. Unless the bases are loaded, they would walk Trout in that situation. Also, if first base is open, they're definitely walking Upton to pitch to Pujols.

Kinsler has been very good in his career with runners in scoring position. Even in his worst offensive year last season, he still posted a .352 OBP with RISP and was even more clutch .409 with RISP and 2 outs.

Huge improvement with that line-up.  I'm hoping they stay away Headley for 3B, but at this point, I'm happy no matter who they bring in there.

The Padres were able to get pitcher Bryan Mitchell and Chase Headley from the Yankees for Jabari Blash who is a player the Yankees didn’t even need. If Eppler really wanted Headley and his contract he missed out on getting pitcher Bryan Mitchell with him.
