I'm just glad that when Nolasco took his number, Jett wasn't issued #44 (Napoli and Trumbo's Angel number.)  Jett would have guaranteed been an All Star for another team in a few years.

Actually I don't think he's trash at all.

He's a great defender and catcher first of all which gives him good value period.

Secondly he has a great all-fields approach as he hits the ball to all parts of the stadium. His problem offensively appears to be the fact that he gets under the ball too much. His infield pop up percentage is like 7th worst in baseball (something ridiculous like 21%). I don't know if this is simply his swing mechanics or if he is purposely trying to hit for power but it is not working for him.

If he can level his swing out and become more of a line drive singles and doubles hitter I think he'd be better off considering his ability to put the ball in play everywhere.

Also he went down to AAA and promptly started hitting again so I think it just may be something he needs to work on rather than him being a piece of garbage.

We have started worse catchers than Carlos Perez - for long periods of time.
