It's a vicious circle..the pitching staff puts the Angels in a position of having to play from behind all the time which puts pressure on the offense. With the offense sputtering it puts pressure on the pitching staff because they know they aren't going to be getting many runs. And it it goes round and round.

If the Angels are really going to shop Escobar then they need to give Cowart a shot but then who is going to bat lead-off?

Not for this year, but it matters next season because if the Angels trade Escobar and Cowart fails at 3b then they just gave up their lead-off hitter and won't have a third baseman on top of it!
