AFL what you don't get is similar to the problem AJ had. You keep posting about stuff as if it is a problem that needs to be addressed by government. Our posts are that we do not see a problem at all. You keep asking for a solution to something that needs no solution in our minds.

The choice is to earn enough. Be it here or somewhere where cost of living is more reasonable.

Rent is high, that's for sure.

 

I remember when I was 19 I rented a nice 1 bedroom in Northridge about a block from CSUN for $240/month.  It's like $1500 to rent there now.

 

And I'm sure none of that has anything to do with student loans / grants / financial aid, etc.....

It has nothing to do with it.

 

It has to do with the fact that the population has doubled since 1950 but the amount of land in the US has not changed.  So there are millions more people going to college and living at these colleges.

 

Supply and demand is the simplest facet of economics...
