Angels offseason in review MLBTR

I take exception to the writer saying Gia "didnt show too much at the plate" last year. A .272 hitter with 25 doubles and 5 triples in 500 ABs is pretty good.

Not only that, but the hits he had were often of the "clutch" variety, and he worked pitchers.

With just a moderate improvement in his D, which I tend to expect, he becomes an above average player overall.

That is why you are wrong so often. You should try to be more agreeable.

A veteran that can out produce a guy like Shoe is what we need. There is a very real chance that Shoe is in the starting rotation to start the season and while it could be worse, it absolutely could be better. Not to mention when your staff consists of what Weaver is these days, Wilson, who is trying out a new delivery, Trop who hasn't really proven himself yet at the major league level, Skaggs who should be fine, but hasn't pitched in 18 months, there are just a ton of question marks. When Santiago, who had the tale of two seasons last year is your third best option in the rotation there is room for improvement. All that being said, who knows what is available. But it wouldn't hurt to take a look at one of the pitchers that is throwing for scouts in the next few weeks.
