"The 43 Mexican students who disappeared in southern Mexico in September were abducted by police on order of a local mayor, and are believed to have been turned over to a gang that killed them and burned their bodies before throwing some remains in a river, the nation's attorney general said Friday."

The mayor wanted to get rid of a bus of students that were going protest due to a lack of funding. So he has the local police 'escort' the bus to their ultimate demise; a paid off gang to slaughter and destroy any remains. I doubt any justice will come of this and probably goes beyond than the city mayor.
