Key to Winning in the Playoffs

Here are the keys according to my worthless opinion:

  • Calhoun catches fire (Had Figgins just gotten warm in 2009, we would have two rings, IMO).
  • CJW pulls his Head n Shoulders out of his ass and is, at the very least, serviceable.
  • Shoemaker comes back and pounds the strike zone, maintains his aggressive approach, controls counts.
  • Freese channels his inner Redbird.
  • Weaver steps up, avoids big innings. Limits the bombs.

Derek Jeter! - Oh, sorry, wrong thread.

It is especially critical to not give the opposition additional outs (or waste your own outs) through fielding errors, baserunning mistakes and other mental lapses. Once October hits every team you face has earned their way in, and you won't be facing teams who you can easily roll over. Sometimes the slimmest of margins will decide who advances and who goes home. A critical mistake can be the difference between a trip to the Jeter World Series or an early tee time.
