No worries, we have Ryan Matthews.  This is his year!

Seriously though...wouldn't have minded having Jackson but as somebody else mentioned, not sure how much he has left in the tank.

The last thing the Chargers need is 2 injury prone running backs. But I do like Steven Jackson. I think he has a good year given the fact that other teams have to worry about White, Gonzalez and Jones. In St Louis they just loaded the box to stop Jackson

It's a slight upgrade as Jackson catches more balls out of the backfield. But I think Jackson has more wear and tear from 10 full seasons of carries than Turner did.

That said, he could still end up with 10 TD's next season. After that, not sure.

It would be a risk for sure, but one the Chargers should have done.

Jackson has more wear and tear but if he's anything close to the player he was last year he's a big upgrade. Jackson is a dual threat while Turner was never much of a pass catcher setting a career high last year with 19 catches which is Jackson's low in a season which was his rookie year. Jackson is always seemingly dealing with an injury but the guy still made it on the field missing only 2 games the previous 4 years. Jackson signed for 3 years and 12M but only 4M is guaranteed so it's not a signing that will hurt them long term. If Jackson can stay on the field and doesn't have a major drop off which is possible as he's turning 30 this year then it's a great short term move by Atlanta to get them over the hump. Especially if Jackson doesn't crap out which is something Turner always did in Atlanta towards the end of the year becoming a non factor.
