Gameday Thread (5/1/24 1pm): Phillies @ Angels: Sandoval on the mound, Pillar in LF

Tough loss...

What was Washington even saying to Adell?! He could have called a safety squeeze to at least try to tie it. Adell was clueless at the plate all game, and of course he struck out for the fourth time.

Angels 0-10 with RISP. Awful.

Because he plays many positions and we are deep into our borderline depth the 1st day of May.

Right, but he's not any good anymore.  Him being on the team wouldn't be notably better than Adrianza, Calhoun, etc., etc.  They're all washed up.  The team absolutely does not need someone like Whitfield, who has no future with them beyond this season.

Why does Wash talk to Adel before his AB? First pitch take? Let the guy hit. Last thing Adel needs is somebody in his head just before he bats.

I am starting to dislike Wash.

Dude had 3 k's before his last at bat.

Wash just said he told him to just make contact and hit to the big part of the field.

I don't mind the micro-managing to be honest. We've kinda needed it for the guys these past couple years, cause they ain't figuring it out on their own. No better guy to do it than Wash.

Sounded like more of a pep talk...
