Seriously like the Heaney for Kendrick trade.  It also gives us a surplus of LHSP.  Wilson, Santiago, Heaney for this season, and add Skaggs when he returns.

Heaney is a great get, especially with the 2B depth we have. I'm almost positive that Green can have at least a 2 WAR season if he stays healthy.

The Angels traded Howie Kendrick, Hank Conger, Jairo Diaz, Mark Sappington and 200k dollars for LHP Andrew Heaney, RHP Nick Tropeano, IF Josh Rutledge, IF Taylor Featherson, LHP Cesar Ramos and C Carlos Perez

 

That's a boatload of talent for one year of a borderline all-star 2B, a backup catcher and two RP prospects. 

 

The Angels got deeper, younger and cheaper. 

 

One of the criticisms of this team was that they were old and expensive (not to the extent that the Yankees were, but still). There will still be some of that as long as we have the Pujols and Hamilton contracts, but Dipoto is building for the long term. You don't do that by overpaying for free agents in their 30s.
