Here we go. Either Napoli gets a World Series ring, or Cards fans make fun of us because we have nothing to show for the Angels' Pujols era.

High character guy that is clutch and a hard worker. He was loyal to our club and was hoping for him to see him finally win a world series in his illustrious career. The game isn't over, but it looks like the Red sox will advance.

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - OCT. 23, 2002 WORLD SERIES GAME 5 ANGELS AT GIANTS SAN FRANCISCO -- Since opening day way back on March 31, Angels manager Mike Scioscia has hypnotized anyone who would listen that any single baseball game wasn't any more important than the next. But with their 16-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants in Game 5 of the World Series, that philosophy will have to be scrapped. The Giants took a three-games-to-two lead in the best-of-seven series Thursday night before 42,713 at Pacific Bell Park, meaning Saturday's Game 6 in Anaheim is now the single most important game of the season for the Angels. A loss and their dream seaso…

With the Giants signing Lincecum to a 2/35 mil. Deal that will make it very difficult to resign Vargas for an affordable deal. Someone will overpay for probably a four year deal. I wouldn't touch Vargas for more than 3/30. This just underscores the need to develop your own pitching.

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - OCT. 22, 2002 WORLD SERIES GAME 4 ANGELS AT GIANTS SAN FRANCISCO -- The San Francisco Giants had no reason to believe Angels reliever Frankie Rodriguez was a mere mortal. Not after watching him retire 12 consecutive Giants hitters, starting with nine in a row in Game 2 on Sunday. But after Rodriguez sent Jeff Kent, Barry Bonds and Benito Santiago to the dugout in the seventh inning on Wednesday night, the Giants suddenly discovered Rodriguez is human after all. David Bell's eighth-inning single off Rodriguez drove home J.T. Snow from second base, snapping a 3-3 tie and lifting the Giants to a 4-3 victory over the Ange…

Looks like Mattingly has yet put his Dodger hat on for 2014. Is it possible that Scioscia can still be traded to the Dodgers if Mattingly signs elsewhere? I think not but ...

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/10/dodgers-offered-kershaw-300mm.html "The Dodgers offered Clayton Kershaw a contract valued at approximately $300MM some time this season, ESPN's Buster Olney reports. The offer was "essentially a lifetime contract" that a source with knowledge of the discussions described as "an A-Rod deal." Sources say that the two sides weren't able to reach an agreement, with Kershaw citing uncertainty about making such a large commitment and about discussing his contract during the season. However, the progress thus far indicates to some who are aware of the discussions that a deal could be completed this winter. The eventual contract may be "mor…

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/signing-off-hall-of-fame-broadcaster-tim-mccarver-to-call-his-final-world-series?ymd=20131021&content_id=63212490&vkey=news_mlb#disqus_thread There is a God! He should have retired 24 years ago. I'll finally be able to un-mute my tv It's like all 30 teams win the World Series after the final out! Tim, I was there when you broke in as a kid. Now I get the pleasure of turning on the TV version of the World Series in 2014. It's time, thank you for realizing so. Now, if MLB hires the Hawk we will all find another sport. Why now? Why not last year? too bad its not Joe Buck calling it a "career"

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - OCT. 21, 2002 WORLD SERIES GAME 3 ANGELS AT GIANTS SAN FRANCISCO -- Just wait, Giants manager Dusty Baker seemed to say, until the Giants got the Angels in their own ballpark, with National League rules and that cold bay breeze. The Angels, though, could not have looked more at home in a 10-4 victory in Game 3 of the World Series before 42,707 at Pacific Bell Park, taking a two-games-to-one lead in the best-of-seven series. Baker promised that baseballs would not fly out of the park like they did in Anaheim in Game 2 when the Angels outscored the Giants, 11-10, and the two teams combined for six home runs. And he was …

from Arte Moreno's desk. It basically let me know that the Angels fell short of their expectations this year and that they are working with the city of Anaheim on a lease agreement that would provide much needed renovations without any tax burden. It also thanked me for the support. The only cool part is that it seems to be a real signature, but I am not positive that it is. I figured this will give the failos something to bitch and make fun of, and the Nutswingers (raises hand) to say, "hey, thats kind of cool".

By Glen McKee, AngelsWin.com Columnist & Satirist Stevie Wonder said it best way back in 1972: “very superstitious, the devil’s on his way.â€ Now unlike Stevie I’m not superstitious, but you don’t have to believe in superstition to think that maybe the Angels are a bit snake-bitten. Sure, there’s 2002 but other than that, this team has had a handful of playoff appearances and lately appears to be settling comfortably into mediocrity. Why is that? What happened to the team from the first decade of the 2000s, that year-after-year had playoff and World Series aspirations and actually at least made it to the postseason? Since the joy of sweeping Boston o…

Been said here already, but congrats to them. Took down a team that most talking heads (and to be fair, lots of informed people) had beating them. Got through a long season fighting off two other very good teams. Obviously, most impressed with the way theyve not only been able to build from within, but how theyve managed to do so while always staying competitive. 4th WS appearance in a decade.....thats very impressive. And unlike most of the teams that are around this october, they arent built to 'win now'. Theyre built to win for a while, and they still have the top prospect in in the minors waiting for a shot. Good to see Carlos Beltran finally get a shot at a r…

The Angels have finished April at or below .500 in nine of manager Mike Scioscia's 14 years at the helm. It is a fact that is not lost on anybody in the organization, but solutions, however, are not easy to come by. View the full article

Wow. Quality arm after quality arm. Is there a factory in St. Louis where pitchers throw 99mph with plus offspeed pitches? Embarrassment of riches. They pull out Carlos Martinez, Trevor Rosenthal, Shelby Miller. We pull out Kevin Jepsen and Joe Blanton.

Real contract news this time. Highest contract ever given to an international player. Supposed to be a real beast. He will be Konerko's heir apparent at 1B. I'm glad Boston or Texas didn't get him.

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - OCT. 19, 2002 WORLD SERIES GAME 2 GIANTS AT ANGELS ANAHEIM -- It was the kind of game that is common at the schoolyard, or under streetlights in a quiet residential neighborhood. The only difference was that the baseballs that were hit didn't break car windows. The Angels and San Francisco Giants combined for 28 hits in Game 2 of the World Series, including a 485-foot missile by the Giants' Barry Bonds. But no hit was bigger than Tim Salmon's two-run homer off Felix Rodriguez in the bottom of the eighth. Salmon's second homer of the game broke a 9-9 tie and lifted the Angels to an 11-10 victory before 44,584 at Edison F…

http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2022078416_felixfraud1xml.html The charges were filed by the U.S. Secret Service on Oct. 1 and allege that Maria Peguero used a debit card belonging to Sandra Hernandez to have nearly $180,000 in merchandise from Saks Fifth Avenue delivered to her Fife apartment between June 26, 2012 and Oct. 9, 2012. And then there's this: According to the investigation, Maria Peguero is associated with an email address, versacegoldbarbie@yahoo.com, that was later traced to a Twitter account on which agents found photographs of Peguero wearing some of the items they believe were purchased illegally from Saks. Oh, and Peguero's wife i…
