Jurickson Profar blasts out a pinch-hit home run off Angels reliever Michael Kohn to keep the Rangers' postseason hopes alive. I don't care whether we finish at, above, or below .500. What I do care about is being the spoiler and keeping Texas off the field. Particularly if we can do it on the last game, and Kinsler makes the last out so we can tell him to get the **** off our field and go home. Who is with me?

Dude is on fire ! If it wasn't for a one at bat game he would have a 17 game hitting streak right now. Regardless of him not making spectacular plays every game or having spectacular hits, he PRODUCES every single game. Aside from his hits, he has some pop and is an RBI machine. What do you guys think, what's his ceiling? Even though he only ha 150 + ab's his numbers are resembling his minor league numbers, so he should have a great upside right? Where will he fit in the lineup this year and how expendable are Bourjous, Trumbo, or even himself?

Last offseason, Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton started a natural-juice diet -- or "lifestyle change," as he calls it -- and entered camp at an estimated 227 pounds, roughly 20 pounds lighter than normal. For next year, he's scrapping that. View the full article

Trout will NOT sign an early extension. There's absolutely no reason to. It's a terrible business move. If he continues to put up the numbers that he does, he will command the most money that's ever been given to a baseball player. He knows that, his agent knows that, Arte knows that. And, by the time he's eligible for free agency, a lot of money will have come off the books or will come off within 1 or 2 years of his mega deal. So, the money will be there. And, I know Arte will be 100% willing to give Trout what he wants. He really can't afford not to have him on the team. Right about now, all we need to do is enjoy the show. Cause, there is a .001% chance that Trout…

Just a few things that an Angels fan can feel good about during this last week of another difficult season: The Yankees missed the playoffs. The Pirates made the playoffs. The Rangers might not make the playoffs, and we'll have a lot to say about it.

They lost again today to the A's 9-8 after coming all the way back with 6 runs in the 8th inning. And the next Brandon Wood I mean Profar struck out to end the game. Now they are only 2.5 games from falling out the last wild card spot.

Now two for his past 36, and looks horrible in the majority of his at bats. He's had THREE years up here, and still has the worst slumps I have EVER seen from a regular!

I really liked this movie the first time I watched it. Then as I'm watching it again and again on cable some things jump out at you. 1. Hudson, Mulder and Zito are never mentioned (they had a much bigger role in getting the A's to the playoffs than Hatteberg and Crawford), as did Chavez, Tejeda, etc. The movie makes it look like the A's had no great players left and a bunch of guys who take walks replaced them. 2. The Angels are never mentioned, and they just so happened to win the World Series that year doing the opposite of many of the things Beane (Brad Pitt) says in the movie....never bunt, never steal, etc. 3. They make the 20th game of that streak seem l…

Just thought this might be worth a separate thread. They lose tonight, and their season is over. Down 3-2 to the Rays in the 5th inning, with their #3-6 hitters (A-Rod, Cano, Soriano, and yes, Vernon Wells) a combined 1-for-8 so far.

Trade Values

Trade Value List for Angels Players: Untradeables. Pujols. Not Tradeable. Hamilton. Likely Not Tradeable. Trout. Would command such a large return it's not even funny, however, the Angels aren't moving him. Weaver. Would command a huge return, however, not in the Angels best interest, in the short or long term. Wilson. Same as above. Not likely to get as large of a return as Weaver, but again not in the Angels best interest. Blanton. No one would offer anything for Joe Blanton. Unlikely to be traded. Frieri. As a closer, his value is high, as a late inning reliever, not as high. Richards. As a young value starter with some success, only would be moved in …

Angels defeat American League West champion Athletics in final home game of the season. Jered Weaver pitched seven innings of five-hit ball, Josh Hamilton drove in two runs, and the Los Angeles Angels did a bit more damage to the Athletics' home-field playoff hopes with a 3-1 victory over Oakland on Wednesday. http://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/jaws_CF.shtml Mike Trout is already 120th on the career center fielder war list. In two seasons he has already done more in his career than Marlon Byrd, Matt Kemp, Adam Jones, Austin Jackson, Juan Pierre, Milton Bradley, Chris Young and BJ Upton. Impressive he has passed these players in less than two years. On a side note Kenny Lofton and Carlos Beltran are # 8 and 9 on this list which surprises me. Seeing as how Lofton and Beltran are top ten center fielders in history, should they make the HOF. They have a higher career wars than other HOF players such as Duke Snider, Andre Dawson, Richie Ashburn, Billy Hamilton, Max Ca…

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - SEPT. 25, 2002 GAME 158 - ANGELS AT RANGERS ARLINGTON, Texas – Angels manager Mike Scioscia instructed the visitors' clubhouse attendants at The Ballpark in Arlington to remove the rolled up plastic sheets hanging over the Angels cubicles. The Angels players, it seems, had enough hanging over their heads. The plastic, used to keep things dry during a celebration, teased the Angels, first in Seattle and now in Texas. Heading into Wednesday night's game against the Rangers, the Angels lost their previous three games with a chance to clinch a playoff spot. But with the plastic gone and their heads cleared of such a d…

SEPT. 24, 2002 GAME 157 - ANGELS AT RANGERS ARLINGTON, Texas – The champagne is flat, and so are the Angels. Playing their third consecutive game with a chance to clinch their first playoff appearance in 16 years, the Angels lost again, this time a lackluster 2-1 setback to the Texas Rangers before 21,869 at The Ballpark in Arlington. It's the first time the Angels have lost three in row since Aug. 7-9. After the game, Angels manager Mike Scioscia held a brief meeting with the players in an effort to get them to play like they did early in September. ``We're so close it's like a carrot dangling in front of you,'' Scioscia said. ``We're so close guys think they c…
