Wife of Mariners' Carlos Peguero under investigation for spending $180,000 on the debit card of Felix Hernandez's wife

The charges were filed by the U.S. Secret Service on Oct. 1 and allege that Maria Peguero used a debit card belonging to Sandra Hernandez to have nearly $180,000 in merchandise from Saks Fifth Avenue delivered to her Fife apartment between June 26, 2012 and Oct. 9, 2012.

 

And then there's this:

 

According to the investigation, Maria Peguero is associated with an email address, versacegoldbarbie@yahoo.com, that was later traced to a Twitter account on which agents found photographs of Peguero wearing some of the items they believe were purchased illegally from Saks.

 

Oh, and Peguero's wife is apparently Pedro Borbon's youngest daughter.

People are victims of credit card fraud all of the time but usually they don't directly hand over their credit card to be used. I can imagine the Mariners are going to ship the kid out in trade or outright release him.

If you readthe entire article it stated the Secret Service heads the Cybercrime task force. The purchases were made online which is their department to investigate.
