  • There is a God! He should have retired 24 years ago.
  • I'll finally be able to un-mute my tv
  • It's like all 30 teams win the World Series after the final out!
  • Tim, I was there when you broke in as a kid.  Now I get the pleasure of turning on the TV version of the World Series in 2014.  It's time, thank you for realizing so.  Now, if MLB hires the Hawk we will all find another sport.
  • Why now? Why not last year? :)

too bad its not Joe Buck calling it a "career"

In that clip you could tell Buck was getting bothered by Lange, not that I blame him. Buck has got a decent personality and he calls a good game. He is respectful to all teams, he just might carry out a propaganda agenda for certain teams that are "popular". Newsflash, every national guy does it.

Well, I really liked Jack Buck -- he was great.  I like Joe Buck and I don't think McCarver's the best color commentator out there (and he's sort of gotten worse in recent years) but I always liked him when he was a player catching for the Cardinals and the Phillies.....he sure caught a lot of Steve Carlton's games.......

Give him his due, he's been doing this for 24 years.......and he certainly was an improvement over Howard Cosell.........probably not too many folks here remember Cosell much at all, but his best sport was boxing where he was pretty good........he MADE Monday Night Football as he was more of entertainer than an announcer...........but baseball, it wasn't his sport and his attempts at doing the World Series would force me to the radio where, fortunately, folks like Vin Scully were on the CBS Radio Network.........

Joe Buck doesn't offer the greatest insights in the world, but aesthetically speaking I think he has a very strong voice that fits well within the dynamics of a playoff atmostphere.  I don't think i'd enjoy listening to him for 162 games a year, but for a few games in October I don't mind him at all.

Tim McCarver is horrible.

I don't have a problem with Buck or McCarver.  Going back 20 years ago, McCarver was sharp, and had great things to add.

I do have a problem with Fox's never-ending closeups of ugly Bostonians during Red Sox games.

same here. neither one of these guys bothers me.

if you're sitting in the expensive seats and the game is close in the late innings and you put your hands over your mouth, you're gonna get on tv!

Tim McCarver sucks.

Joe Buck is annoying.

Ken Rosenthal is unnecessary.

Just way too much inaccurate commentary and overanalizing on Fox, I can't stand it, they never shut up about the dumbest stuff.

I have muted the TV and listened to the teams game broadcasts on my home stereo through Sirius radio for years now, and I love it. Now listening to the Fox TV commentators is unbearable.

I always liked the two of them. I also think McCarver is doing the right thing. Chris Berman are you watching?

Baseball is a really difficult game to do from the broadcast booth. The action calls the game for you in most other sports. In baseball one at-bat might take five minutes. Five minutes waiting for something to happen.
