Nearly the exact same argument was made against the Moniak deal, except Moniak is 5 years younger.  

I understand.  My point is that it will only cost a minor league deal to take a flyer on a player who was a second round draft pick.  Every season there is a comeback story somewhere.

At age 29 in AAA, he had an OPS that was 70 points below the league average.  He has been absolute garbage since 2020, whether looking at the majors or minors.  In his professional career, he has really only had one great year (2017).  He went from being an unranked prospect to a top 50 one after that year--and he has never come close to living up to that hype.

What argument? Moniak was 24 and included with another minor leaguer 21 year old Jadiel Sanchez for Noah Syndergaard. You seem to be confused about how Moniak was acquired.
