• Luis Rengifo (4.043): $4.2MM -- TENDER, maybe Trade
• Jaime Barria (4.035): $1.5MM -- Non-Tender
• Chad Wallach (4.018): $1.1MM -- Non Tender unless you have Stassi retire.
• Taylor Ward (3.164): $4.5MM -- TENDER
• Patrick Sandoval (3.149): $5MM -- TENDER, maybe Trade
• Jared Walsh (3.114): $2.7MM -- Non-Tender, hope to resign to minor league deal
• Jose Suarez (3.084): $1.1MM -- Maybe Tender, but he's a reliever now.
• Jose Quijada (3.046): $1MM -- Out for most of 2024, so???

Suarez and Quijada are the tough decisions.

Suarez is out of options, coming off a shoulder injury, and was bad.

Quijada is coming off TJ and out of options once he’s healthy.

But both were solid in 2021-22

I keep Suarez he is young and was hurt last year. Only 1.1 mill. and Barria was horrible last year but in 2022 was solid again 1.5 mill not a lot.

$1.5 million is a lot when you’re out of options and providing production that any random minor league free agent making league minimum can provide

The minimum salary next year is $740,000. So, taking a chance on Suarez is an extremely low risk, but possibly high reward if he can get close to where he was in 2021-22.

The obvious non-tenders to me are:

Philiips, Wallach and Walsh.

Tender:

Canning, Ward, Suarez, Rengifo and Sandoval.

Basically with Quijada, you're risking $1 million to potentially get a decent reliever in 2025 for another $1 million in arbitration again.

Barria was absolutely horrible after the break. They kept putting him out there though which means somebody thinks he can get things back together.

With a pitching staff that has had soooo many injuries, it would be wise to have as many bullpen arms with options as possible. And 3-4 starters with options would help.That would be backend depth.

I would add Ward to the list of tender, possibly trade. We have a lot of holes , with few trade pieces.

Would not want to trade Rengifo he is only 26. Before his injury one of top hitters on Angels. He can play all over the INF and OF. Taylor Ward will be 30 next year and to bring in younger players I would trade him.

Barria was horrible 2nd half out there.  However he was solid for most of his career.  His ceiling is low so i guess the decision should be if they can find a replacement.  Suarez probably can do what he does.

I see a shade under 20m in arb here.  That with the 120m in guaranteed salaries leaves about 50-70m left to build the team.  They could end up with another 7m depending on what Stassi does.  And it certainly would hurt my feelings if Rendon decided to retire.

He's not walking away from $115 million. Of course, he rarely can walk as is.
