I bet you have a better job than this guy

In late July a bunch of family got together and decided we hadn't been to a game in awhile so I bought a block of tickets for the TB game on a sunday.  Of course, as the game approached we were all kind of wondering whether we really wanted to go.  Really nice guy called me from the ticket/marketing side of the halos and gave me an option to upgrade to a suite for minimal cost.  As I was thinking about it the Angels continued to slide and then came hurricane Hillary.  Called the guy and he pushed to have me switch to another game this year but I told him likely not although I'd think about it but just give me a credit and I'll use it next year.

He actually made the effort to call me a week later to see if I still might want to attend a game this year and I met his half hearted ask with a bit of a chuckle of which his response was 'Well, I had to try'.

I appreciated that he stayed pleasant while I was thinking about how miserable a job that must be.  I was curious about how long he'd worked for the team in that capacity but didn't have time for chit chat even though now I wish I would have asked him.  He called me from his cell and made sure I saved his number for next year.

I just reminded me that as a fan I can just turn the misery off as I please.  This guy has to live through it every day.
