Speaks volumes to the depth of this club. I believe Perry learned his lesson on this one and he'll stack up AAA and the roster ahead of ST next year to have quality depth on the bench and available in Salt Lake.

Thankfully we can also offer a ton of relief depth from the Trash Pandas bullpen, most from the 2021 draft and you have position players like Soto, Stefanic, Thaiss, Monia to backup Rengifo, Rendon, Fletcher, Walsh.

To be fair, Mike Ford has been claimed repeatedly this season -- he managed at bats for four MLB teams this season, including two playoff teams.  It's the time of year where guys like these get released, so no surprise they weren't claimed.

Mike Mayers is the ultimate mop-up man. Since he can throw 90 to 100 pitches. If team falls behind by 6 or 7 runs early put him in. He can save a bullpen let him throw 5 or 6 inn.

Ford is a one-dimensional guy.  Pull first, get everything in the air.  Also, he tends to clog the bases when he does get on. 

Sierra is a Terrance Gore clone.  Crazy fast, if he could only hit.  

Mayers, someone needs to teach him the splitter.  If he could learn that pitch, and use it, he may yet land in a ML bullpen.

He lived off the cutter in his one good year of 2020 which was a pretty small sample of 30 ip.  They've been trying to reproduce that and now it's eroded into him being straight up awful.  And he'll be due for another arb raise this year above the 2.15m he's already making.  

Someone else can teach him a new pitch.  Or if they want to non-tender him and bring him to spring as a non-roster then fine.  But I'd prefer looking elsewhere personally.
