anyone tried getting a cracked screen on an apple watch repaired? Turns out apple watch can survive being worn while sparring and doing bag work...but one drop from 6 feet onto concrete while landing on the corner of the screen...not so much

yeah...I was finally able to sign in, but the bottom half of the touch screen isn't working.  Glass gives way slightly when pressed, guessing because of the cracks

Hahaha.  Just saw what apples replacement charges were for the apple watch.  Hahahaha.

Even a DIY seems expensive.

And when part of the instructions are put it in a microwave.  And it just seems overly complicated, or I should say a lot of points where user error can occur.  I think you are screwed.

yeah, if I can't get it done locally by someone for $100 or so probably just go get a new one

I'd really look at what you use the watch for.  You might not need to get another expensive smartwatch.  I've been using a basic smartwatch for years, and only really use it to see notifications, timer, watch, and steps/heart rate.  Only thing I really want, and it's still in the first gen stages is blood pressure monitor.

A former student of mine does all kinds of screen replacement stuff for apple products. He’s in Eagle Rock. I can contact him if you’re interested.

Sweet...can you drive down here and pick up the watch...and then bring it back after the repairs are done.

TIA!

Don't do it, Red. I've been here since Thursday waiting for Tank to return my golf clubs.

What makes you think Adam hasn’t stolen them again?

Hang in there, Red. Just leaving Glendale now.

I bought an Apple Watch in July.  Few weeks ago I dropped mine like 4 ft onto tile and it shattered.  Honestly pretty disappointed with the durability.  Basically you’re f*cked and have to cough up $300 for a replacement.

Take a basic watch and drop it from 4 feet onto tile and the face will probably shatter. This isn't a durability issue. This is your a klutz issue.
