Crazy, we forget that the mental side is such a big part of sports. Also crazy Brady has outlasted Manning and his replacement

Whether it's his head, heart, body or some combination of those three that has him wanting to retire it's the right choice if he isn't all in.

too many injuries to overcome. what a shame. when he was on, boy was he fun to watch.

He's got 75 mil in the bank and a still functioning brain...   Why risk losing one to add to the other.

Colts fans have to be pretty let down but man -- they should have built a line to protect him.  I don't think I've seen a guy take as much consistent abuse this side of David Carr.

The colts have actually built one of the top offensive lines in the NFL. Unfortunately from 2012-2015 Luck was the most pressured or hit QB. The colts were smart to hold onto Brisset when teams were trying trade for him.

I guy drafted him in the 6th round in one of my fantasy leagues yesterday. I told him he'd be lucky if Luck plays this year. I didn't see retirement happening though

In the fall of 2013, I was driving to LAX early one morning, maybe 5AM, and listening to a sports talk show that I believe was national, though I cannot remember what it was. The host was asking "Who will win more Super Bowls: Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck?" I remember it for two reasons, the first being I thought it was a silly question because Manning had already won a Super Bowl, and was considered the favorite to win another that season with Denver. 

But the second reason was that an overwhelming number of callers, I would guess 80%, were adamant that Luck would win more than Manning. To retire at the age of 29, with only one AFC Championship game appearance (a 38-point loss), is extremely disappointing.
