Both the Ducks and the Hawks are coming back to earth a bit after their amazing starts.  We need to pick up a win soon to stop the bleeding.

Yeesh.  Defense is in a serious slump.  Both goaltenders seem to be in a slump too but hard to really tell since the D is giving up way too many easy shots.

If the Ducks get blown out by the Hawks tonight, think the Ducks will try to acquire a big player by the trade deadline?

Hiller in goal for the Ducks tonight.  Emery for the Blackhawks.  Hossa and Sharp will not play.

GB, other than a top defender, which I am not sure any are available, not sure what they would trade for.  I would rather hold onto draft picks.

Having just signed two huge contracts, I dont think the Ducks have much luxury to trade away any draft picks. They are going to need young (and cheap) talent for the future.

naw.

i dont think you can put too much weight on getting smoked by the best team in hockey.

especially since were the only team to beat them twice.

 

i think they make a small to medium sized move for playoff grit, but nothing blockbuster.

expect one of hiller or fasth gone in the offseason though.

even with getz and perry deals we're still good on the salary front.
