I agree. But I guess it comes down to the new manager is picking his coaching staff and that new manager may have wanted to keep him in some capacity. So there was nothing to announce.

I’m curious to when the Angels actually announce their hire. Seems very quiet with just assumptions on names they could be interviewing. The last two coaching searches had the list of names they interviewed.

He wasn't on a guaranteed contract for next season so he took an offer instead of wait. It's not quitting when you really aren't employed.

I would guess most, if not all of the coaches are looking for other jobs since Nevin isn't coming back.

I'm in the minority here, but I actually liked the work Matt Wise did.  I wish him well with the White Sox, except when he plays the Angels.

Not sure you can say there was no fault on Wise’s part. Sandoval, Dietmers, and Barria regressed, the bullpen decisions didn’t often make sense, and there was little development that I noticed. 

I mean, did anyone think that Wise earned another year?

 Whoever came up with the "he didn't do enough to correct the issues" (which were uncorrectable  due to an unprecedented loss of manpower).   Is a goofball.
