Gameday Thread: (9/26/23) Rangers @ Angels: Detmers on the mound, no Schanuel

A lot of action on the first five pitches from Detmers. And an instant deficit.

Today and tomorrow are the last televised Angel games available for me. MLB Extra Innings doesn't have any more on their schedule. Might as well win them.

I like Fletcher.

If he left the Angels he could probably find an organization that teaches him to drive the ball instead of slapping at it.

He turns 30 next May.  If he hasn't figured out how to do that at this point on his own or with the team's help, it's not gonna happen.  This is who he is.

Nah.

Doyers or Braves would help him.

Poor guy is stuck with these bums.

Detmers settling in.

Speaking of pitchers, I caught part of the Cleveland/Cinci game. Giolito was horrible! Five runs, three homers and almost a hundred pitches in four innings. Should be interesting to see what happens with him in free agency. Certainly not leaving a positive impression.

Nah.

This is just who he is.  If he wanted to change on his own or if the team thought some sort of tweak would help him, do you honestly think he just wouldn't have done it at this point?

I see big numbers for Adell next year. He needs to play every day.

Nope.

RISP and halos refuse to hit a ball past the infield. Can't even get a sac fly.

Cornerstone of a team that has no business in MLB playoffs.
