It'll be interesting to see if this can become a reality.  It'll also be interesting to see what this does for draft eligible American prospects.  Why draft a 21 year old kid coming out of college that won't be major league ready until 24/25 when you can draft a 16 year old Dominican that can be ready at 21?  Or why draft an 18 year old American kid that throws 95 when you can draft a 16 year old Puerto Rican throwing 95?  I'm pretty sure American born players would start pushing for draft eligibility at 16 if that happened. 

But I do like that it brings up the corruption that's taken place in the current system.  Kids dropping out of school at age 10 to focus on baseball, coming to secret contracts with a major league team by age 13/14, rampant use of PED's in barely teenage children, that stop using as soon as they sign the contract, etc...

You have to figure this will likely be part of the next CBA, along with no draft pick compensation and a firm floor on how much major league teams need to spend.

Then the good ones would only be playing for the Yankees, Red Sox or Dodgers.

They should just go back to 50 rounds of the draft and have it include the international players.
