LA Times: Seeing what there is to see, and hearing too much, at Angel Stadium

Recommended Posts

It isn't the easiest place to get to, and the baseball isn't the greatest, but a good time still can be had on a pleasant Anaheim evening. Bring earplugs, though.

It's another hymn of an evening down here in Anaheim, the French Riviera of freeways. Took a mere two hours to drive from L.A., which exceeds the capacity of many bladders. Fortunately, the kid in the back seat fell asleep in Azusa of all places, or the trip might've verged on the unpleasant.

Pretty sure anyone South of the LA Country Border has been saying the same thing about Dodger Stadium for a decade now.

I will also guarantee 3/4 of that "two hour drive" was on garbage LA freeways.

Maybe it took 2 hours cause he went the wrong way. You don't go through Azusa coming from LA.

That's what I was thinking too Katie. Should only take 1 hour from LA with traffic, 30 minutes with no traffic. I know because that's how long it takes me.

Other than that though, the article is pretty accurate. One thing I'm surprised he didn't bring up was the blinding advertisements. And maybe that's why the stadium seems dark, since those advertisements seem to light everything up when they are showing, thus making when they aren't showing during at bats seem like it's much darker than it is.
