Scherzer three outs away from another no-hitter (he got it!)

Recommended Posts

Statistically that's probably the best pitching performance in major league history.

It was a game score of 104, which is one below Kerry Wood's 105 in 1998 when he struck out 20 and walked none. But Wood gave up a hit so I'll give Scherzer the edge.

Highest game score all-time in a no-hitter. You're right, probably the best pitching performance ever.

Joe Oeschger had a score of 153 in a game in 1920 but only because he tossed 26 innings of one-run ball. He did allow nine hits. Leon Cadore, the opposing pitcher, matched him inning for inning, and the game ended in a 1-1 tie, called on account of darkness. Cadore's game score is 140.

I remember thinking the Angels would swoop him during the offseason. It was a pipe dream, but he would've been perfect for this team. They would've won the division by a landslide.

Bummer how he missed out on the perfect game. He had 0 walks...man

Why would the Mets let Harvey pitch today...? Terry Collins is a bonehead
