NHL Trade deadline

Well, Jagr in the West didn't last long.  At least the Stars aren't going to be in the Pacific division (or whatever it'll be called) next season, because for once, with Jagr on the team I was kind of happy to watch the Ducks play the Stars.

Interesting.  I wonder if they've spoken about an extension already.  The rumor was that Clowe wanted a 7-8 year extension, which would be absurd.

Rangers regret letting Prust get away. Clowe will hopefully fill that void, and open the ice up for the rest of the guys.

Good trade

Regehr is a solid veteran blueliner acquisition, whose grit was needed to overcome not having Mitchell.

It still hurts though to not have Greene's leadership as asst. captain on the ice.

That is so important come SCP time.

I think this is a good deal for the Kings.  Our time is NOW, and Regehr played for Sutter awhile back so he knows what he's getting.

So I'm reading about Smithson. He was acquired by the Panthers for a sixth round pick originally. He's 34 years old. He has a solid faceoff win rate but his Corsi numbers are awful. Handzus went for a 4th, comparatively.

Meanwhile a better center in Anton Lander remains in Oklahoma City. Steve Tambellini, ladies and gentlemen!
