66ers Opening Day Roster

Things that caught my eye:

 

-Cal Towey listed as a catcher

-Jose Rondon!

 

And the one and only Chevy Clarke finally breaks through to A+ ball!

It'd be nice if Cal Towey sticks at catcher.

Also, I feel like this is probably the team that will dictate which direction this farm system goes.   Is the current plan legit?  I think this team will give us a good idea.

Not necessarily.  There are players at every level that will dictate the system.  In AAA, C.J. Cron, Grant Green and Taylor Lindsey all have a reasonably strong chance at being everyday players in 2015.  In AA, Yarbrough, Stamets and Borenstein may push for time in a year or two, the same with Sappington, Alvarez and Morin.  The 66ers have Rondon, McGowin and Bedrosian that are likely to help the Angels someday.

Cal Towey has reached base all 7 times so far this season. He is 5-6 with a walk while reaching once on an error. He just smoked an RBI double off Taijuan Walker.

I noticed the same thing - the talent seems relatively spread out, unlike in the last couple years.
