Watching the first inning against Italy, just had to marvel at the patience of the young players in the lineup today. Taking pitches, working counts, fouling a lot of balls off, waiting for a pitch to hit, and making solid contact.

I seldom miss an Angel game, and this was something I have not seen our young players do in many seasons. I started wondering... who are these guys?  These can't be young players from the Angels organization.

Hopefully this wasn't a fluke thing, but the fruits of a new and effective hitting philosophy that will infect the entire organization.

Sure was nice to see.
