The Angels are already fucked financially. Signing him would be a disaster. The quicker they blow it up and start over, the more likely they'll be able to contend in the next decade. Unfortunately, they won't sign him and then commit stupid money to others this year and/or next.

Just spending less isn’t going to make the Angels good.  In the short term, surely it’ll make them worse.  They need to fundamentally change the way they operate.  Until I see one shred of evidence that Arte is going to accept that or that he actually peaces the fuck out then I just don’t believe that is happening.
