LOL.  Get serious.  No Perry call to Bochy would have changed the trajectory of the Angels 2023 season.

if you don't think Bochy would've made a difference and been a huge upgrade over Nevin then ur clueless. Rangers off the schneid-now only 5 teams without a WS title. Seattle being one of those 5, can they make it 3 years in a row for the AL West? Angels need to step up to keep pace

I don’t think Bochy would have come out of retirement for just anyone.  He and Chris Young had a history together from their days with the Padres.

Don't forget all of the additions to the roster. It wasn't just Bochy walking into a static locker room and bang, they're champions.

What you’re missing is that the Angels were up for sale at the time, so it would have been hard to get any experienced manager to walk into such an unknown situation.

Well it wouldn’t be that far-fetched to imagine an experienced manager walking into that situation, provided they got a guaranteed three-year contract.  But you don’t want to have - contract like that in place to complicate the flexibility of the incoming ownership/management team when they will likely want their own guy.

I’m splitting hairs making the same point, but just saying guaranteed money solves many concerns for anyone going into a situation.

I doubt that a lame duck owner was going to be handing out multi-year deals. That was what Arte was supposed to be.
