LB State is off to a 5-2 start, including a 3 game sweep of 18th ranked (before the series) Wake Forest at Blair Field this past weekend and outscoring them 19-5 over the 3 games.

New coach Eric Valenzuela (formerly at Saint Mary's) was considered a HR hire.   He built them from nothing into a perennial WCC contender.

UCLA is 7-0 and ranked #11. We've outscored our opponents 45-5.

btw, Bruin softball is 10-0 and ranked #1.

Fun fact: My prior boss played baseball at UCLA, and since 1975, which is as far back as I was able to find stats, only 1 player was HBP more than him.

LB State softball isn't 10-0 for sure, but they do own a win over #2 (at the time) Oklahoma, thanks to a 4 run last of the 7th inning rally.

Oklahoma is ranked #3, so that's a big win.

We're without our 2 All-Americans, including 2019 POTY Rachel Garcia, who are playing this year on the Olympic team

FRISCO, Texas – The No. 8-ranked UCLA baseball team was crowned the de facto champion of the 2020 Frisco College Classic after routing Illinois 14-1 on Sunday to complete an undefeated weekend at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

The Bruins (11-0) were the lone team to go undefeated over the weekend, and ended the tournament outscoring their opponents 32-4 and out-hitting them 43-8. A day after banging out a season-high 14 hits, UCLA recorded new season-highs in both runs (14) and hits (17) on Sunday.

The Illini dropped to 5-4 overall after picking up wins over ranked opponents in the first two days of the Frisco College Classic.

LB took two out of three from 6th ranked Miss State.    They allowed just two runs total in the two wins, and got shutout in the other game.    Adam Seminaris one-hit Miss State over 8 innings Friday night with 10 Ks, lone hit coming in the 6th inning.

LB is newly ranked 17th in two polls.
