    As if we needed anything else, a wildfire has started in the Mount Charleston area west of the city, origin unknown. My own photo, taken on the way to the grocery store at about 6 PM: A photo taken by a coworker who was supposed to camp in the area, but had to evacuate instead.     Please make sure you hold theses places accountable. Since nobody is allowed to visit these places lack it. My dad had surgery two weeks ago. After three days the put him into rehab for occupational and physical therapy. I left to go visit him Friday and spoke to him while traveling and he was lucid and clear. By Sunday we found out that he was near death and brought him to his home. He died three hours later. We had even asked to see him on FaceTime and they said they couldn’t. They did not clean his face, he had bed sores so he hadn’t been given either of the therapies. His catheter was too tight so he was in tremendous pain.

    I will be scarce for a while. At about 8:45 AM I was called to an urgent meeting in the warden's office this morning. In that meeting, I was informed that my co-administrator was killed in an auto accident on the way to work, hit head on by a wrong-way driver on US 95. I had the duty of informing my staff, the hardest thing I have had to do in my entire 25 year nursing career. We are picking up the pieces. I will be carrying the entire load at a time when I will struggle emotionally to do it. My late colleague was a fine administrator, a man of strong character, and we were of one mind when it came to any issue that faced us. I am still numb. It hardly seems possible…
