The student she hooked up with was 12 years old at the time of their first encounter. They married after she got out of prison on the rape charge, and were later legally separated. She was a former Servite cheerleader, for what that's worth.

Ironic, but her father was a California State Senator. He intended to run for the U. S. Senate in 1982, but his political ambitions were waylaid when it was revealed that - wait for it - he fathered two children out of wedlock with a mistress, a former student at Santa Ana College, where he taught political science - among other things, apparently.
