A residential building collapsed in the Surfside area at around 1:00 in the morning. Unfortunately it looks like the amount of casualties is going to be quite high.

To her credit, she's basically owned up to it, says she knew the rules, knew what could happen and did it anyway but it's amazing to see how many people want to blame the IOC and are yapping about it being a racist issue or an attack on their "culture". Rules don't matter. Laws don't matter. It's all about personal feelings and getting what one wants it seems. Again, she deserves credit for owning it.... but it's crazy to see how many people on Twitter don't. Also, it's worth mentioning that the IOC doesn't completely prohibit pot, a person would have to be toking right up until the event in order to flunk the tests...

Growing up there were articles about flying cars in Popular Mechanics and I thought how cool it would be. Well, there is a company finally making them and getting them certified for both highway and flight. It's like a hybrid helicopter when the rotors are extended. https://www.pal-v.com/en/

Anyone down to have drinks one of these days? I think it’s time we commiserate about the Halos in person. I figure sometime in July prob somewhere in OC since most of you guys live around there.

Ohio police officer almost dies after coming into contact with a small amount of the drug while making an arrest. This is the stuff that's killing thousands of young drug users nationwide. Their heroin is often laced with it. It's deadly in very small quantities. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2017/05/ohio_police_officer_accidental.html

I'm not nearly a man and can fix nothing but that doesn't stop my wife and mother in law from asking me to fix everything that breaks. I usually figure it out in a few hours but I'm sure most things should take 10-15 minutes.

This has been discussed before, but I forget what the consensus was on this subject. I used to have a rule it being ok as long as you (me) were younger than the person, but as I get older, there's obviously more and more athletes that are younger than me. The only player whose shirt I own who is younger than I am is OBJ, but only by a couple weeks so I give myself a pass

Long story short, this is gonna be a warranty question more than anything. Any advice or experience you can share will be appreciated. The midwest kinda sucks sometimes, and mother nature does its best to take you out in a number of ways. In the winter it's the cold and the flying ice and stuff. In the spring/summer it tends to be f-all rain storms that last anywhere from 10 minutes to like 8 days. Anyhow, after I bought my place a few years ago, whenever we'd get a decent amount of rain my basement would flood. Not a huge deal, as it's just a giant concrete room with some storage shelving and a washer/dryer. That said, it was still less than ideal and I went about g…

I just got the noitification that NAB (National Alliance of Broadcsters) have cancelled this years convention in Las Vegas where all of the vendors assemble with demonstrations of new hardware, software and workflows. This is a big event and now scraped from the calendar and no word of a reschedule. That is a lot of money not flowing into the strip and we can be looking at layoffs in sin city. As we've read in the news public gatherings are being curtailed or even cancelled outright. This is going to work it's way through all sorts of service industries. Post here what you are going to miss because your event was rescheduled or permanently cancelled.

I've met Elton John and Henry Mancini. I sang with Andy Williams for his Christmas show (two shows) one year, but he never came around to say hello to us. In Christian music, I've sung with Sandi Patty twice and The Hoppers once, and I've met Ernie Haas and Signature Sound. Have also met and sung with Larry Ford.

*Warning - this is a completely self indulgent post* I thought about Stradling, and the struggles he had with his dad passing away. I thought about my dad, who will be gone five years this decemmber. Moreso, I thought about how I rarely think about him. First off, he was a good dad. He took the job seriously. Was always around. Was a ball-buster to the Nth degree. Told us he loved us once in a while. But man, he could be a prick. Non stop. I have told some of these stories here, but he (and my mom to an extent) had so many WTF moments.. .not just as parents, but as grandparents. These aren't crying, or complaints by me. I tell them with amusement.…

I went to pick up some Angels gear on Sunday at Dick’s Sporting Goods and saw some Shitty ass Doyers fans (and Clippers fans). By the time I got back to my car my fabric hood was covered in some grey paint. I know it was them because I could hear them laughing and mentioning Colorado while I was inside (my car has CO plates). For reference, I have a small Angels logo decal on my passenger window and an Angels Baseball license plate frame. fuck that fanbase motherfuckers

I remember when Orange County actually had tons of orange groves. When I was a kid, I used to catch lizards. Mostly blue bellies (swifts). I'd feed them meal worms and insects. I'd keep them for a while and then let them go. I'd also catch frogs, newts, and turtles (the pacific turtle is a freshwater turtle native to California). I did all this while living in Orange County. Now a days, I don't think kids do this stuff any more. Most of the habitat is gone. Lots of animals I used to see frequently are gone. I'd see snakes every now and then. Owls were a frequent sight. Sure, you might see one every now and then now - but back in the day, I'd see them …

What's going on in SoCal? The funny thing is there are several news outlets reporting this but failing to include the important detail that the "shooters" are using BB guns, not actual guns. https://ktla.com/news/local-news/anaheim-shooting-reported-amid-investigation-into-dozens-of-bb-gun-attacks-on-91-freeway/

Can't stop farting 1 2 3

So I've been farting a lot recently, but not having to poop. Nothing in my diet has changed, but it seems like every night a handful of firecrackers go off in my underpants. For example, I started counting about 2 hours ago and after a crescendo, my fart total reached 52. That's 26 farts per hour. Am I going to die?

Anyone a consistent dry clean customer? Any good recommendations in OC? Just went to the place next to my domicile and paid $17.85 for five shirts.....or $3.57 a shirt. Is that excessive or am I out of the loop with dry cleaning and pricing?

Looking for something different and there seems to be more options. Always liked Tapatio. Sriracha is actually good mixed with ketchup for burgers. Cholula is ok. That one from the singer of The Offspring, I think it's Gringo Bandito, is pretty good. What's yours or something you have tried and liked?

Last night my dad passed away at the age of 83 after a 7 month battle with MDS, a form of bone marrow cancer. We were blessed that he never experienced any pain during the entire process. My dad was a great man that grew up on a farm in Iowa. He liked to tell the story about the first baseball game he ever saw in person, it was Memorial day, I believe it was 1950, where he and his buddies drove from Iowa to St Louis to watch a game. Bob Feller pitched that game, and I think he won the game, 8-1. My dad was a lot of things in his life, from a farmer, to a soldier, to an electrical engineer, to a cab driver in Anaheim. He use to get tickets for the Angel games from pe…
