http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/scott-miller/23286878/broken-angels-tense-atmosphere-nearly-included-pujols-hunter-fight-in-2012 “Albert, you'd better get your facts straight, a seething Hunter told Pujols. Pujols said something back, and Hunter jumped him for being a bad teammate and pouting all season whenever he failed to get hits in a game, even in games the Angels won … and now he was going to call others out? “Shut up, Torii, Pujols snapped. It was then that Hunter, from across the clubhouse, lost it and charged Pujols. Hawkins and outfielder Vernon Wells had to restrain him.

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - AUG. 27, 2002 GAME 131 - DEVIL RAYS AT ANGELS ANAHEIM – Scott Spiezio’s two-out, three-run double in the seventh inning broke open a close game and led the Angels to a 7-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays before 19,869 at Edison Field. The Angels took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the seventh and loaded the bases on a single, error and a walk. With two outs, Devil Rays starter Victor Zambrano was replaced by reliever Travis Harper, who gave up the bases-clearing double to Spiezio. It was one of three hits for Spiezio, who wasn't the only Angel two swing the bat well in the game. Alex Ochoa and Garret Anderson…

Wladimir Balentien 5 short of Japanese HR record of 55 for the season with 33 games to play. So, do you think they quit pitching to him similar to what happened to Tuffy Rhodes? He became a human dart board the last week of the season as he was trying to break Sadaharu Oh's record. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/9604350/wladimir-balentien-approaching-japan-single-season-homer-mark In before.... 7/220M....

Might be doing some good things but he evidently isn't getting through to Trumbo. His discipline at the plate and understanding of the strike zone are atrocious for a veteran major league hitter. How great can he be if he overcomes that ??

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/houston-astros-worst-record-baseball-making-most-money-175023013.html Seems like any year now, they can start becoming a player for FAs. If Jim Crane is smart though he learned from Arte Moreno's mistakes, and will not go crazy over 32 year-olds in decline and still give them massive contracts.

There's a million topics on how bad we are. Lets try it from another angle. You're a dodger fan. Are you happy with the state of your team? Meaning finance wise. Do you believe their long term deals are safe bets/smart moves? Do you break the bank on kershaw? Do you extend hanley? The only reason I ask, I'm sure the answers would have looked different a few months ago. I'm pretty sure they'll be different in a few years too.

This time, lets look at trades that don't save us money. Before I get skewered, my disclaimer is I'm not advocating we make any. But since the dodgers have everyone's attention, I figured it would be fun to discuss. We obviously need to get younger, and cut some payroll. That said, we also have holes. No impact free agents in the near future (cano isn't coming here, we can all relax), and the farm is barren. What about taking a contract off someone's hands, only this time a good player? (And again, I'm not advocating it). But maybe there someone out there that's being paid too much for a go nowhere team. What if there's a high dollar, but 2-3 ish year left on the contr…

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - AUG. 26, 2002 GAME 130 - ANGELS AT RED SOX BOSTON -- It won't go down as the most dramatic home run in Red Sox history. It won't even be remembered as the most dramatic home run by a Red Sox player against the Angels. But Johnny Damon's leadoff homer in the bottom of the 10th won't soon be forgotten, either by the sellout crowd of 32,869 at Fenway Park, or the players from both teams. The Red Sox scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game, and in the 10th, Damon homered off Angels reliever Scot Shields to give the Red Sox a 10-9 win and a split in the four-game series. The loss dropped the Angels thre…

It seems implausible that a fresh-faced rookie with little or no experience can transform an entire team overnight from something ordinary into something extraordinary. But in consecutive seasons, that is precisely what we have seen with the Angels' Mike Trout and the Dodgers' Yasiel Puig. View the full article

"Several clubs expect that pitcher Masahiro Tanaka will look to join an MLB team this offseason, according to Badler, which confirms what we've heard in recent months. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder has put together a sterling season this year for the Rakuten Golden Eagles, compiling a 1.20 ERA across 158 innings with 130 strikeouts and just 22 walks. With an arsenal that includes a low-90s fastball and two plus secondary offerings - including a splitter that grades out at a 70 on the 20-80 scouting scale - some scouts project him as a potential No. 2 starter that could help a team immediately, Badler reports." " throwing his fastball comfortably in the low 90's, although hit…
