Angels manager Mike Scioscia said there are "no philosophical differences" between him and general manager Jerry Dipoto. The longtime skipper admits he was upset over the dismissal of hitting coach and longtime friend Mickey Hatcher last May, but he said he's moved on and added that whatever disagreements go on with Dipoto are "healthy." Anyone else watching this year? It feels like a life saver to me. Watching the Angels is painful. It's good to see these kids care about the game, be excited about the game, and be crushed when they lose. I'm watching this Iowa vs Michigan game, and this one kid from Michigan is a grown ass man. He's 12 years old, but he's got to be 6'2" 180lbs, and I think he has a 5 o'clock shadow. Of course a big thing I enjoy seeing is all the kids' favorite players. In this game Trout seems pretty well represented in the Iowa team while surprise surprise, Miggy is the man for Michigan. I wonder if anyone tracks who the most popular player is, among the Little Leaguers.

The man is earning a spot in the rotation next year for sure and this is great news. It is one less need to fill. They will just need to fill two rotation spots for 2014. My guess is they will attempt to trade for a starter and then they'll need to sign one. There are some decent available via FA next year. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2013&month=0&season1=2013&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=978,6176,126,512,1701,1292,769,375,2047,6283,3886,4684,1077,232,3340,1303,4538,1451,1757,3273,921,7450,3374,4567,5879,4897,3283,4930,1259,833,5705,8678,6…

If this was posted mod please delete. Checked the time it was posted at CBS and didn't see it posted as a thread by itself but maybe it was or is in another thread: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/jon-heyman/23287160/while-dipoto-or-scioscia-will-lose-angels-blame-game-owner-is-far-from-clean Just reading it now myself and wanted to share. Says Moreno, Mike and Jerry deserve blame but Moreno deserves more than the other 2.

http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/scott-miller/23286878/broken-angels-tense-atmosphere-nearly-included-pujols-hunter-fight-in-2012 "Miller reports that, in 2011, owner Arte Moreno threatened to fire then-GM Tony Reagins if he couldn't trade for outfielder Vernon Wells within 24 hours, effectively backing Reagins into a corner. That might partially explain the remarkable, and disastrous, result, which had the Angels taking on $81MM of the $86MM remaining on Wells' contract, while also giving up Mike Napoli in the process" From now on the Wells/Napoli fiasco should be knows as "Arte's" disastrous trade! Reagins was just the fall guy!

Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton have had off years, promising prospects are mostly in the lower Minor League levels, basically every aspect of the big league club has struggled, many of the moves the front office made have backfired, and the Angels could finish with 90 losses for the first time in 14 years. Where do they go from here? View the full article

"We had a scouting report on him before the game and, ya know, he almost pretty much reversed the scouting report that we had." Maybe this is why our guys look clueless at the plate half the time. This organization sucks.

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - AUG. 23, 2002 GAME 127 - ANGELS AT RED SOX BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox had a couple things going for them Friday night, and together they teamed up to beat the Angels, 4-1, before a sellout crowd of 33,221 at Fenway Park. First and foremost, the Red Sox had pitcher Pedro Martinez on the mound. Martinez (17-3) gave up only a solo homer to Troy Glaus in his eight innings, cruising after the Red Sox offense score four runs in the first three innings off Angels starter Jarrod Washburn. The Angels fell two games behind Oakland in the American League West and remain one game behind Seattle in the wild-card race. Boston mo…

He was a 2012 draft pick out of JC. His 2012 Arizona rookie ball stats were so-so, save for a decent BBs total. He's busted out for them in 2013, with a near .400 OBP, 13 XBHs in 138 at bats, 15 SBs, and 26 runs scored. He did just turn 21, kind of old for that league. Is he a future org player at best? Or maybe yet another viable 4th OF option about 4 years down the road?

that Dipoto should be fired in addition to Scioscia. This team has become an absolute joke. Chris Nelson? Colin Cowgil? JC Gutierrez? Dane de la Rosa? Who the **** are these guys and why are they on the Angels?

Easily. 39 games left, 23 of which are against playoff contenders (Cleveland, Tampa Bay, Oakland, and Texas). Twelve games against non-contenders (Seattle, Milwaukee, Toronto) and three more left against Houston, which owns us. There's also a make-up game against Minnesota, which might not be played. A record of 17-22 would put us at 90 losses. Can't wait for that draft pick!
