C.J. Wilson has a long history with struggling slugger Josh Hamilton, and the Angels starter has no doubt Hamilton will revert back to his traditional form next season. View the full article

He just left Cleveland. I think he'd be a decent pickup, much better than Blanton

Mike DiGiovanna #Angels have DFA'd RHP Billy Buckner again. Third or fourth time, I've lost track. RHP Cory Rasmus called up from triple-A.

Many players who have had less than great stints with the Halos have gone on to succes with other teams. Who do you think will do better if/when they move on? Trumbo, Jepsen, Kohn, Howie, Aybar, Burjos, Hanson, etc?

Yeah, I know he has several years left on his contract. That shouldn't stop Arte...he has deep pockets. Simply put, this team doesn't execute when its needed most-RISP and they strike out way too often. Don't get me started on the pitching. You don't need prior managerial experience to manage a MLB team. If you know baseball, have a competent coaching staff and can count, you can manage. Talent helps too. Possible Replacements ?? Kevin Kennedy Tim Salmon Rod Carew David Eckstein Darren Erstad any of those would do for me. Dipoto should go too.The Greinke trade is certifiably one of the dumbest on record. Any thoughts who might replace him ?…

..this is a crazy season. Only 3 MLB teams (KC, Wash, and Ariz) are in the range of 8 games over .500 to 8 games under .500. Everyone else is either quite a few games over .500, or quite a few games under .500. When was the last time there was such a large number of good records and large number of bad records? Even as bad as the Halos have been since before the ASB (12-26), they still only have the 6th worst record in MLB, albeit just 1 game better than the #4 worst record Cubs, and only 3 1/2 games better than the #3 worst record ChiSox. And on the scoreboard, the Philles already won (thank you) and the Cubs are tied after 11 with Wash. Go Cubs Go! …

Article on why you shouldn't give 2+ year contracts to relievers: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/multi-year-deals-for-relievers-an-ugly-retrospective/ Before this season even started Dipoto stated that he didn't like the idea of investing a lot of money in relievers. Unfortunately the one he did sign, Burnett, got injured and combined with other risk based signings such as Madson, left us in a difficult situation with a not-so-good bullpen. I agree with the principal of not overly investing in relievers but we do need to improve in this area in the off season so it may require a signing or two. Trades would probably be preferable in my mind to find a young, flamet…

They're now only 2.5 games behind Oakland for the second wild card spot. So much for "spoilers". We can't even do that right.

In the end, I don't believe that either Scioscia or Dipoto will get fired. Much of the success of this franchise in the first decade of the 2000's had to do with continuity. The Halos played baseball the Scioscia way and it worked very well through that decade, when the Halos were able to amass division title after division title. Scioscia was able to get a lot out of the players and I don't believe he's lost his ability. Dipoto took a lot of gambles the past off-season and pretty much sevened out. But, there were a lot of factors, including major injuries, that contributed to one of the worst seasons in Angels recent history. Can we really blame Dipoto for Weave…

In this upcoming off season what would be a list of things that Arte and Jerry need to address. I want to know what people think is the most important. I'll start. This is by importance. 1. Release Joe Blanton 2. Fire Mike Butcher 3. Trade Kendrick and Bourjos for Starting Pitching 4. Resign Jason Vargas 5. Start talking with Trout and his agent about contract extension. Still have a couple of years on this, but needs to start this year. Just to name a few

The Rangers beat the O's 30-3 here's. Only 4 pitchers pitched for te O's and the rangers only scored in 4 different innings. 2 Rangers had 7 RBI's and ever Ranger had at least 1 hit. 30 runs scored in a game set an American League record. http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=270822201

https://twitter.com/MikeDiGiovanna/status/370282096809349120 Apparently Scioscia stated the As never taught Green how to bunt. I wish the Angels had the same philosophy.

He still has a chance at the batting title if he can remain hot throughout the rest of the season.

Watching the Bees here in Reno with my Angel fanatic 12 yr old daughter. Coworker hooked me up with 3rd row ducats right next to Bees dugout. Kendall got some autographs before game, Lucho, Field, Keith Johnson, Drew Heid. Lucho was way cool, Johnson too. Tommy Field was kinda irritated, but signed anyways. Hanson looks shaky, living at 87-88 and hanging curveballs. Andy Marte hit one about 600' to LF, 1st pitch fastball cockshot, hit it over RR trax, a hike. My kid is beaming, way effing better than sitting home watching the 'big' club!

Gabe Kapler wrote a fantastic essay about PEDs in MLB. This is the first time I've heard from a player what truly motivates them to take, or not to take, PEDs. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=21574 **Warning- This is a very long, well written essay that may be above your level of reading comprehension**

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - AUG. 22, 2002 GAME 126 - ANGELS AT YANKEES NEW YORK -- The Angels will have you believe it was only one loss, no more, no less. But their 4-2 setback to the New York Yankees Thursday night had a little more significance in the standings, what Angels manager Mike Scioscia calls their ``report card.'' For the previous two days, the Angels were among the teams in a three-way tie for first place in the American League West. After Thursday's loss before 43,222 at Yankee Stadium, it's now a two-way tie between the Seattle Mariners and Oakland A's, and the Angels are in third place for the first time since June 25. With a …

Ladies and Gents, the final totals are in. We raised $3072 over our AngelsWin.com Summer Fanfest Weekend. The golf tournament in our first charitable event raised $1020.00. Major props to Bruce Nye and Adam Dodge for pulling this off. You both did an amazing job! Very professional from start to finish. Our softball tournament and raffle prize giveaways raised the rest of the money, just over $2000 in total. Thank you all who participated, donated and showed love toward these special needs kids this past weekend. I'm truly honored to be a part of this and call many of you my friends. Despite a terrible season (and no playoff berths the past four years) …
