Saw a mention in MLBTR that Cal Ripken is starting to become interested in managing. The Nationals would be an obvious fit for him considering the location but Arte needs to at least make a call if Sosh is relieved of his duties.

Weaver bounced back with a great outing today: 8IP, 0 BB, 8 SO, 3 H, 1 ER Jered threw one bad pitch that cost him his shutout today. This is the Weaver the Angels will need next year.

Since June 21, when the Dodgers were 30-42, they've gone 42-9 (!!!). How is that possible? Unreal. By the way, the Angels were 33-41 at the end of June 21 - 4 games better than the Dodgers. Since then they've gone 22-27. A tale of two LA teams.

Has seven multi-hit games in his last 11 games. That's a nice little streak he has going. Hopefully next year he can be a threat again offensively.

Over his last 15 games through Sunday's victory, Josh Hamilton is batting .344 (22-for-64) with a couple of homers and four walks -- albeit 15 strikeouts -- to raise his batting average to a season-high .235. View the full article

.... and a lot of you jagoff fans Just my opinion: Arte has a serious insecurity/inferiority complex. It first reared its head when he adopted the fake LA name - an embarrassment we haven't lived down in nine years. Read his quotes at the big press conferences - usually you can find some mention of the word "Dodgers"...which is a complete red herring. He feels he's "competing" with the joke of a franchise 35 miles up the road. While taking his eye off the AL West rival 1,400 miles to the east. Arte has never understood that winning championships will take care of just about all his problems. Disney gave him the cache of a freshly minted championship when he bou…

Kole Calhoun has two-run home run as Angels offense provides Jered Weaver with run support. Jered Weaver gave up just three hits in eight strong innings, Kole Calhoun added a two-run homer and the Los Angeles Angels completed a three-game sweep with a 7-1 win over the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - AUG. 25, 2002 GAME 129 - ANGELS AT RED SOX BOSTON -- Before Friday, neither Chone Figgins nor Mickey Callaway spent one minute in a major league uniform this season. But by late Sunday afternoon, they were the reasons the Angels had their music playing loudly in the cramped visitors clubhouse in the bowels of ancient Fenway Park. Callaway matched Cy Young award candidate Derek Lowe pitch-for-pitch for six innings and Figgins burned up the basepaths in the ninth inning to lift the Angels to an 8-3 win over the Boston Red Sox before a sellout crowd of 32,059. The win kept the Angels in a tie with the Seattle Mariners fo…

Rumor has it the Phillies would be a good fit for Scioscia, so why not just trade him? If we release him we eat all that money, which he would likely get on the open market anyway...is it the years left that is the problem in a trade? Anyone care to elababorate on why a trade would or would not work???

All the Red Sox players and fans are going crazy on Arod when they won a world series on the roided backs of Ortiz and Manny.

Due to the standings, the Angels can essentially use these final five weeks to get a real sense for which of their young players -- such as Grant Green, J.B. Shuck and Garrett Richards -- can be counted on in 2014. View the full article

During the game on FSW, they just interviewed a kid who was standing near the dugout, when Trout signed a ball and tossed it to him. DURING THE GAME. Trout rules.

Should be interesting to see how this all plays out. Arod drama, as usual. Cruz talking about fighting his suspension, likely under pressure from his team to fight it while they are in contention. Looks like Bartolo is in the clear.. It's going make for some good conversation if it comes down as expected in the next few days.

So this board is kind of degrading into a who to place the blame on discussion. After reading through all this crap it's safe to say that there is no clear answer. We have daily articlestaking pot shots at everyone. Some blame Moreno, some Reagins, some Scioscia, others DiPoto. I have no idea who to really place the blame on. What we can look at are some of the facts... Arte Moreno fired Tony Reagins as a direct result of the Mike Napoli / Vernon Wells trade. The biggest problem with this organization right now, beyond poor free agent spending, is a complete lack of organizational depth brought on by an organizational imperative to win now. This imperative goes …

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said there are "no philosophical differences" between him and general manager Jerry Dipoto. The longtime skipper admits he was upset over the dismissal of hitting coach and longtime friend Mickey Hatcher last May, but he said he's moved on and added that whatever disagreements go on with Dipoto are "healthy." Anyone else watching this year? It feels like a life saver to me. Watching the Angels is painful. It's good to see these kids care about the game, be excited about the game, and be crushed when they lose. I'm watching this Iowa vs Michigan game, and this one kid from Michigan is a grown ass man. He's 12 years old, but he's got to be 6'2" 180lbs, and I think he has a 5 o'clock shadow. Of course a big thing I enjoy seeing is all the kids' favorite players. In this game Trout seems pretty well represented in the Iowa team while surprise surprise, Miggy is the man for Michigan. I wonder if anyone tracks who the most popular player is, among the Little Leaguers.
