This season among the dreadful of the past is the most for me. I don't know about you but, its the shock that has worn me out with this endless, heart palpitating nightmare. Happy Birthday, Arte, though not so happy on a horrible day like today, among the many throughout the season. What else is there to say by the list I posted with today's gdt?. The only bright spot to the season is thst they've manhandled the reigning runner up Tigers for the season, but with the least bit of relief to this nightmare of no end. How do u like that, a nightmare with a Happy Birthday.

Just want to get a sort of gauge as to what people will want for the fanfest. It is my first year attending, and I don't want to just bring anything I will solely like because it is for every there to enjoy.

I haven't been able to see him play much, but he's been tearing it up so far in his short stint with the angels. How has his defense looked? I really think he can be a solid everyday player.

Never seen him pitch, but so far he's got 11 walks in 12.1 innings. I know he's young and it's only the Arizona league but should we be worried at all?

I posted this to see what you guys think the Opening Day roster for the 2014 Angels should be. This would include trades and free agent signings.

No mention of Nelson's grand slam in a separate thread?

I by no means think Soriano is a HOF, but I can't help but wonder if he would be going into the HOF if he stayed at 2nd base. While his numbers are not great for an outfielder, they would be remarkable for a 2nd basemen. I am predicting he finished with this slash line. .270 AVG, .320 OBP, .500 SLG%, 2300 Hits, 500+ 2B, 30 3B, 450 HR, 500 BB, 300 SB, 1250 Runs, 1250 RBI. To me those would be HOF 2nd basemen numbers. Hall of very good outfield numbers. I remember him being mad and not wanting to move to the outfield, I can see why.

C.J. Wilson earns the victory for a team already looking toward 2014 amid a season marked by disappointment.

NEW YORK — Chris Nelson's first career grand slam and multi-homer game, which helped the Angels avoid a four-game sweep with an 8-4 victory over the New York Yankees on Thursday, provided a temporary respite from a brutal season. View the full article

Trout BA 330 3rd in league on base percentage Only 27 bags? I get kind of frustrated too many times Trout gets stranded @ 1st base or gets cleaned up by double plays. I hate to see hitters swing and hit foul balls off when he has a bag stolen. I hate to see guys (Hamilton) swing on the 1st pitch and not give Trout any opportunities of stealing a base. Pujols who was suppose to have a great eye , was terrible in taking pitches for TRout to run and of course Howie stupid double plays. Trout should be close to 50 bags imo. Scioscia, stop being a pussy and let him loose.

...for injecting new life into their playoff hopes, which were a bit shaky coming into this series. In the past three days, of the teams ahead of them for the second wild card, New York has made up 2 games on Kansas City, 1 game on Cleveland, and 3 games on Baltimore. The Rays are losing right now, and if they do lose tonight, the Yankees will have gained 2.5 games on them for that second WC, and will be only 4.5 back with plenty of games to go. The Angels are just what the doctor ordered for Yankee fans.

Who is this guy? And why is he here? Halos can get about the same production from any guy coming in off the street. The fact that this guy is starting on a team with a payroll over $120 million pretty much sums up how good of a farm system the Halos organization has. I mean, I love black people, but guys like this should stay at AAA.

The hope that accompanied the off-season acquisition of four pitchers faded and the shortfall was evident again in an 11-3 loss to the Yankees in which Alfonso Soriano hits two home runs and drives in seven runs. — It was a day filled with more hope than promise. When pitchers Joe Blanton, Tommy Hanson, Ryan Madson and Sean Burnett were introduced together at the ESPN Zone in Anaheim on Dec. 12, the numbers on their new Angels jerseys could have been replaced by question marks. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/reversestandings2014 Angels are 53-65 right now in 8th place, just 1.5 games ahead of us in the Loss column is the Cubs/Brewers at #4 in other words, the race is very tight to get between the #4 pick and the #8+ pick It doesnt look to be realistic that we can play .380 baseball from here on out, but if we can go .400-.410 from here on out, we have a decent shot at top 5

The Angels are now 53-66, which as far as I can tell is the first time they've been 13 games under .500 since 1999. And yes, that means this is the first time a Mike Scioscia team has been this bad. A real low-point for the franchise, my friends.
