What to do when your phone gets wet

Recommended Posts

I hear you can put it in a bowl of rice. If you let it sit in a bowl of rice, the rice will attract an asian man to come and fix your phone for you.

If you have a protection plan on it you can do the same thing but with watermelon. Put it in a bowl of watermelon and then after it gets stolen call your carrier and have them send you out a new phone.

you’re going to have to perform reverse CPR on your gadget’s orifices. Get an empty bowl and set it down next to you. ... Every time you suck in some liquid, spit it into the bowl to avoid swallowing any sort of weird mechanical chemicals.

No way in hell I'm doing this if it fell in any toilet. However, it it happens to drop in trout's toilet, I will call t-dawg.

Please clarify who would be attracted to watermelon and capable of stealing.

Many years ago I was having a discussion with our chief engineer as to what to do if a drink is spilled into electronics. This subject came up when an effects console was destroyed by an editor that dumped her soda in it, told no one and quietly swapped it out for one in another edit bay.

So this guy tells me if I ever dump a drink into a keyboard to unplug it immediately and rush it to the sink and rinse it out before the coke eats away at the solder and gums up the keys. I was thinking about just how long I would last if the owner walks by as I am rinsing out one of his 1/4 million dollar efx devices in the break room and decided I will call one of the techs to do it instead.
