I'm guessing Hawpe was called up to get warm for when Bourjos gets back and Shuck is sent down and Hawpe is the 4th outfielder. On the other hand, I'd also like to see Kole Calhoun get a chance to be the 4th outfielder.

I can't imagine why the team would stick with Hawpe.

 

He has a little bit of pop, but that's about it and he's an atrocious defender.

 

He hasn't been above replacement level since 2009, and that seems awfully unlikely to change with how good his bat would need to be.

I disagree about Calhoun. Don't bring him up to play once or twice a week. That does him no good. Put Albert on the DL and then bring up Calhoun.

Agree on DL Pujols and give Calhoun regular at bats up here and see what he can do.

This season is a washout anyway.
