Players Union

So we have read that the Players Union did what they were legally obligated to do with the Astros players by protecting them under the CBA.  So when a pitcher gets a suspension for drilling an Astros hitter, if they deny it was on purpose with the Players Union fight for that player?  Do they have any recourse if that player gets suspended, or because of previous suspensions there is precedence and they have no real ability to prevent it?

Should be a fun story when the season starts. Curious to see what happens.

I still refuse to believe the union is entirely backing this. Unions are there to protect against wrong doing by the owners/company. I dont believe they are obligated to protect illegal activity (in this case against the rules of the sport). The players are going to police this themselves if the union and league dont handle it properly. They are both putting the Astros in harms way rather than providing an appropriate punishment.

I am curious to see when the Astros get plunked will the umpires squash it there and kick the pitcher out of the game or will the Astros retaliate back? Either way it's going to be entertaining.
