It was after we signed Hamiltom.  Albert's signing was already done and he already shown to be a bust.

Fielder?  Didn't they have insurance on that deal?  I think they did so I don't think it was as bad on the team as it looks.

Just looked it up.  They had an insurance policy that covered 50% of the remaining contract.

Yeah many have rewritten history because of how much of a tool he was.  He mashed here and brought in a ton of excitement. From a marketing perspective he brought in the new      mo-llennium. He almost convinced randy Johnson to come here. We dumped him for appier who helped get us a ring.
