Wow, that makes no sense at all. 

Especially when he only has to pitch to one or two batters as a left-handed specialist. One inning at most.

 

The guy became a porcelain china doll when he joined the Angels.

 

You're right, it makes no sense. How could he pitch a simulated game and be just fine, and then he's not even close to returning?? Something's really messed up here.

I don't really disagree with what your saying, but unlike most players, he didn't have full spring training to get ready for the season. I'd rather him to take a little longer to return (even if that take a month or longer to return) than "rush" back and have another setback.
