8.0 Earthquake in Chile

1st Tsunami waves are starting to hit the coast. Not sure how big they are or how populated the area is though.

8.1 is a pretty F'ing big quake. It is crazy that there are so few casualties. I have some friends on a guitar forum that live down there, they posted that, at least early on, that there wasn't a crazy amount of damage in the cities, but some of the adobe houses crumbled and people walked away.

There was a pretty big prison break.

I'm not surprised with the amount of casualties.

 

Chile is one of the most earthquake prepared countries out there.

An 8.0 is 1000 times greater in magnitude than a 5.0

 

We'd be pretty effed up if one of those hit close to OC or LA
