Hunter Renfroe

Small sample size and all, but, he’s doubled his walk rate and cut his strikeout rate way way down. He’s a streaky hitter and his career numbers are incredibly consistent so I imagine this is just a good stretch for him, but if he actually somehow found a way to cut back on Ks and up his walks he becomes a pretty great pick-up and steps up a tier from good player to All-Star. Actually really pleased with the way he and Ward have been playing.

Taylor Ward is playing to expectations though.

No link but I heard somewhere Renfroe is typically a slow starter, so this is an excellent start for him.  That’s an impressive outfield.

Yeah, I’m not sold either, but if he has somehow turned a corner and improved his plate discipline - even somewhere in between where he is now and his career norms - he definitely ‘levels up’ as a MLBer.

And if he plays decently this whole year, he could absolutely be a QO candidate.
