THE GAME: The Dodgers scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to hand the Angels a 9-4 defeat on Wednesday afternoon at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz.

PITCHING REPORT: Angels starter Griffin Canning allowed just one baserunner (on a walk) in two scoreless innings. In their first four games this spring, Angels starters have not allowed a run in eight innings. … Angels closer Hansel Robles gave up a run in his first outing of the spring on three singles and a walk. It could have been worse except for a double-play grounder in the middle. … All of the Dodgers’ runs in the eighth inning came off right-hander Matt Ball. … Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen made his second appearance of the spring and struck out the side in order in the second inning. Jansen has faced six batters this spring and struck out five. … Joe Kelly faced four batters in his inning, gave up a single and struck out two.

HITTING REPORT: Luke Raley drove in two of the Dodgers’ eighth-inning runs with a triple. Cody Thomas added a three-run home run, his second home run of the spring. … Cody Bellinger drove in the Dodgers’ first run with a two-out single in the third. … Zach McKinstry broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning when he tripled off the top of the left field wall, driving in two runs. … Michael Hermosillo drove in the Angels’ only run with an RBI double. … Angels top prospect Jo Adell had a single and struck out twice. Adell has a hit in each of his three games and is 3 for 9 overall. … Livan Soto gave the Angels a lead with a three-run home run off Markus Solbach in the top of the eighth inning. Soto was signed by the Angels after he was declared a free agent from the Atlanta Braves’ organization when the Braves were found guilty of violating international signing rules. He has one home run in 618 minor-league at-bats.
